Be the Reason Someone Knows God is Good

“We know love by this, that he laid down his life for us – and we ought to lay down our lives for one another. How does God’s love abide in anyone who has the world’s goods and sees a brother or sister in need and yet refuses to help.

“Beloved, let us love one another, because love is from God; every who loves is born of God and knows God.” (1 John 3:16-17, 4:7)

I am thankful that my family is healthy and well. I am thankful that most in our church are doing well. And even those who are not well physically know that God loves them. For that I am truly thankful.

But there are many in our country who are not doing well. They are going through all the uncertainties of 2020 without the anchor of God’s grace and peace. I don’t even want to imagine what it’s like to go through life today without knowing that God is sovereign, God is good, God is loving, that God is in control of eternity. But there are more of us who do not know our God than those who do.

Because there are so many who do not know the peace and life in Jesus Christ, God gave to this world the church, his body. The church is God’s gift to a hurting world. Because Jesus dwells in every believer, everywhere believers are Jesus is present!

In a world divided by political allegiances, racial and income inequalities, and so much uncertainty, be Christ’s light. Let Christ shine through you. When we keep ourselves aware of the presence of Jesus, the Holy Spirit will guide us to be a blessing to the people around us.

Be a blessing today. Bless someone’s life today. Our world desperately needs Jesus.

Be the reason someone knows God is good.

You Are Beloved

“For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life” (John 3:16).

God loves you.

When God thought of eternity, he could not imagine spending eternity without you in it. So God sent his only Son to die on the cross and rise from the dead to make a way for sinners to become heirs of the kingdom of God.

God absolutely loves you.

No matter what you are going through today, let this be your constant reminder.

When life’s circumstances make you feel as though the world is against you, remember the One who is on your side.

The voices in this world tell you, you are not enough, you don’t have enough. God reminds you, you are more than enough.

C. S. Lewis is absolutely right when he wrote, “He died not for men, but for each man. If each man had been the only man made, he would have done no less.”

Finding Our Way God’s Way

“Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light to my path” (Psalm 119:105)

When things are confusing, when times are dark, when there seems to be no end in sight for our turbulent times what are you supposed to do?

How are we supposed to find our way through the haze of confusion?

“Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.”

Elizabeth Elliot wrote, “The only thing that keeps me stable and settled in these days of uncertainty is the absolute dependability of God’s word.” And she’s absolutely right.

God’s word shines a light in the darkness.

God’s word shows us the way we should live.

God’s word shows us the way, the truth, and the life.

Christian, are you regularly in God’s word? Without God’s truth we are hopelessly lost.
